It all started as a small business in Hyde Park, South Australia where heavenly chocolate was used to make extraordinarily divine cakes.
The love of chocolate made it seem so natural that Cocolat would also begin making handmade chocolate truffles becoming one of Adelaide's most sort after chocolate makers.
And so it all began ...
Since 2004 and it's days in Hyde Park, Cocolat has grown and now has a well establshed and efficient artisan kitchen based in Balhannah in the Adelaide Hills supplying all Cocolat stores.
Step into the foyer of the Cocolat kitchen in serene surroundings and the aroma will have you begging for more. Before the sun comes up this kitchen is filled with highly skilled chocolatiers, bakers and patisseriers making the fabulous desserts and chocolates that you will find at each Cocolat outlet. Every product is individually handmade to perfection using only the highest quality ingredients. This is a vital key to the success of Cocolat.
The Cocolat kitchen now produces gelato to the finest of traditional recipes and can boast both state and national awards for it's fantastic flavours and smooth creamy texture. In fact in both 2011 and 2012 Cocolat was given Australia's 'best icecream award' at the National Dairy Association Awards. Not bad for a company that produces everything from a little town in the Adelaide Hills.
Since it began in 2004, Cocolat has always understood the importance of delivering superior quality products and continues with that tradition til this day.
Occasionally a business stands out by having all the right attributes. Paul Wheeler, one of the founders of internationally successful Cartridge World, saw that Cocolat was just that. A rare businesses that had what it needed to be very successful. And so with this as his base, Paul, as it's Director has taken Cocolat to the next level, with franchises opening around the country, delivering the brand qualities and indulgent products that are Cocolat's signature to those that love to be indulged and to be just a little bit wicked.
