Mount Bryan East and Sir Hubert Wilkins Homestead

Visit the family home of the famous explorer and adventurer Sir Hubert Wilkins, that was in ruins until its restoration (initiated by Dick Smith) in 2001.

Visit the homestead at your leisure by collecting a key from the Mount Bryan Hotel. A daylight visit is recommended as there is no power at the homestead.

You will pass the site of the little town of Mount Bryan East (now in ruins). The former Mount Bryan East School and Church, are now a popular stop-over for travellers.

Not far from this point, you will cross Goyder's Line, a surprisingly accurate delineation of the 10 inch line of rainfall, determined by the very changes in vegetation you see at this point.
