Alligator Gorge



Alligator Gorge within the Mount Remarkable National Park is one of the premier natural attractions in the Southern Flinders Ranges. This spectacular gorge, cut through ancient quartzite by the Alligator Creek, is easily accessible to visitors along any number of walking trails, from a short ten minute stroll to an all day hike.

Toilets, a picnic area and barbecue facilities are provided for visitors who can spend an hour or full day exploring this beautiful landmark.

Alligator Gorge is located 10 kilometres south of Wilmington, accessed via a turn off just outside of Wilmington Township. The road is winding and not accessible to towing vehicles, but does provide some stunning views over the surrounding region.
