Fancy a drop of some of South Australia's best red wine? You're in the right place. The Limestone Coast is home to the Coonawarra, Wrattonbully, Mount Benson, Mt Gambier and Padthaway wine regions. There are more than 40 cellar doors to choose from across the broader region.

The Coonawarra name is synonymous with robust red wines, particularly Cabernet Sauvignon. Nature has given the wine region an amazing advantage, laying a thin 12 kilometre strip of rich, terra rossa soil over a limestone bed.

Dont ignore the whites though. Youll find quality whites around the region. The Sauvignon Blancs from the cooler coastal wineries have a very good reputation.

It is not all about the Coonawarra, with great grape growing country to be found across the greater area.

Be sure to visit the coastal Mount Benson region, with cellar door including Cape Jaffa, Ralph Fowler and Wangolina Station. You will also find great wine experiences across the central districts of Wrattonbully and Padthaway, both areas within easy reach of Naracoorte township.
